- Nymphs (an immature form of an insect that does not change greatly as it grows) take between 6 weeks to 12 weeks to develop into adults and live up to 6 months to develop into adults.
- Generally there will be 3-4 generations per year.
- Most commonly found indoors.
- Prefers wet, humid conditions and are usually found in kitchens, bathrooms and commercial properties.
It is believed that the German cockroach harbours a number of diseases which could potentially have health issues to humans.
A high level of hygiene and sanitation is highly recommended.
- Indoors – always wash the dishes and never food out overnight, clean benches and floors, remove uneaten pet food, food should be stored in airtight containers, build-up of oils and fats around the stove top should be removed and kept clean.
